I took my 8 year old daughter on this private tour of the American History Museum and it was fantastic! Terri was a great guide - I'd highly recommend him. He was incredibly knowledgeable and showed us fascinating parts of the museum that were perfectly appropriate for an 8 year old (and great for me too).
