Begin at Holland’s answer to the Louvre, called the Rijksmuseum. Explore Dutch history through a selection over 8000 objects on display. We’ll discuss familiar names like Rembrandt as well as lesser known items like 17th century dollhouses. Understand the meaning behind Vermeer’s “The Milkmaid” and marvel at the expansive 19th century library. At the end of the tour, you’ll have a good overview of the museum’s collection and you may even know how to pronounce its name correctly.
After a break for lunch, move outdoors and orient yourself to Amsterdam with an introduction to its history and learn how a small 12th century fishing village with a simple dam became one of the most popular capital cities in the world. Our guides will crisscross its iconic canals and bridges while peeking into its quiet courtyards, offering a postcard image of the city. You will discover its leaning houses and other landmarks while learning how to navigate the oftentimes tricky streets of the city center. Our local guides are also eager to share their insider knowledge so that you can maximize your time spent in Amsterdam.

We had a Fantastic tour. Our guide, Eve, was knowledgable and personable and pitched the tour well to our interests. We had a fabulous day!
I have been on many tours and thought that this was one of the best. Salena was very knowledgable, personal and interesting. Had a really great time.
I booked a small group tour of the Rijksmuseum, and it was honestly one of the best tours I've ever been on! When I booked this tour, it was for a small group, but apparently I was the only person who booked (I booked for a Monday in January, so not the high holiday season I'm sure) - where most tours would cancel due to low numbers, I was privileged to have a one on one tour of the museum, with the fabulous guide, Melissa. I cannot say enough good things about my experience - Melissa was so friendly, and so knowledgeable. I learned so much about both the history of the Netherlands as well as art history and theory in general. I would HIGHLY recommend this tour for anyone who has interest in history and/or art while they are visiting Amsterdam. I look forward to coming back to take more tours with this group. Wonderful experience!
We had afantastic time with our guide, Victoria. She was extremely knowledgable and made the museum items really come to live. If you have only a few hours available and want tobknow more than just the average, this tour is a must!
I would recommend this tour to anyone that will listen. Our guide was knowledgeable, passionate about her job, and very informative. We really enjoyed our visit and learned so much more than we ever have could on our own.
